Mimon Uhamou (chairman of the European Works Council of Siemens), Saskia Kraußer (chairwoman of the Siemens Group Works Council) and Robert Kensbock (chairman of the Central Works Council of Siemens Energy, soon to be named “Omterra”) gave information on the current situation at Siemens resp. Siemens Energy.

In the afternoon, representatives of the Siemens US management attended the meeting. They gave a report on Siemens in the US, which was discussed with the participants of the meeting. 

The participants of the meeting visited the new Siemens manufacturing site in Fort Worth, where the workers are represented by the union IBEW after a clear decision of the workers at the union election in 2024.

On the second day of the meeting, representatives of the management of Siemens Energy gave a presentation on Siemens Energy in the US and discussed various issues with the participants of the meeting.

The USW representatives from the Siemens Energy transformer plant in Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada, informed the participants of the meeting about the ongoing lockout by the company, that they are going through since months. The participants of the meeting expressed their solidarity and the intent to develop ideas of solidarity actions at the unionized locations of Siemens and Siemens Energy.

The participants discussed in the final session of the meeting their future cooperation in North America and with their colleagues in Germany, especially with regard to the ongoing splitting up of the Siemens group.
