Healthcare Italy: agreement reached

The active opposition of Italian Healthcare employees against worse conditions in the new structure has led to a success: After 10 weeks of negotiation, a total of 24 hours of strike and two public demonstrations at the entrance of the Siemens Headquarters in Milan, finally a bargaining agreement has been reached.

The agreement safeguards the current rights and economic conditions for all Healthcare employees in Italy who will be transferred to the Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics company in October 2015.

It was signed on July 15th by representatives of HR management, the employees and the unions, ensuring that all current rights and economic conditions will be maintained once the Healthcare employees are transferred into the new Healthcare company.

Margherita Milite, Italian member of the executive committee of the Siemens' European Works Council SEC, resumes: "This has been a very difficult time for the Healthcare employees in Italy, and a special appreciation goes to the IG Metall and the Workers’ Council of Siemens Healthcare GmbH for their support and solidarity - GRAZIE!"

From Monday, July 20th, all Healthcare employees are called to cast their vote to approve the final agreement.
