Siemens' new plant for Smart Infrastructure products at Fort Worth, Texas, is close to the factory in Grand Prairie, where the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) has been representing workers for many years. Since the US-management refused to acknowledge IBEW as representation of the workers in Fort Worth, although IBEW could prove the support of the majority of the workers, IBEW had to go the way of a union election according to US law.

On September 18th/19th, 2024, the European Works Council (EWC) of Siemens Energy held its 4th meeting in Porto. 26 delegates from 15 countries (Germany, UK, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, France, Hungary, Romania, Norway, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy and Netherlands) took part in the meeting. Only the delegate from Poland was missing.

The European Union has set itself ambitious climate targets and has resolved to become climate-neutral by 2050. In order to implement this plan, huge investments are needed not only in the energy infrastructure, but also in the expansion of energy generation from renewable sources. On April 16th/17th 2024, 33 delegates of the Siemens Europe Committee (SEC) met in Erlangen, Germany, for the 30. meeting of the SEC.

Three negotiating Spanish unions (CCOO, ELA and UGT) and the HR of Siemens Games Renewable Energies have signed an agreement for corporate offices for the period 2024 - 2026. Both sides are satisfied with the agreement that, despite the current complex situation, means improvements for the entire workforce in different areas.

Only one delegate from the UK was missing.

On May 3rd/4th, 32 delegates from 22 countries* met for the annual meeting of the “Siemens Europe Committee” (SEC) in Sibiu, Romania. Harald Kern, president of the “Siemens Europe Committee” (SEC), opened the meeting, which was his last before his retirement at the end of the year.
