On July 21st/22nd, representatives of the unions IBEW, UAW, IUE-CWA and IAM held a meeting together with representatives of IG Metall and the German Works Councils of Siemens and Siemens Energy in Arlington, Texas (near Dallas). Representatives of the union USW participated online.

On April 28th/29th, 2026, the Siemens Europe Committee (SEC) held its annual meeting in Sweden. 35 delegates from 23 countries took part in the meeting, which was led by the SEC president, Mimon Uhamou from Germany, and his deputy, Saskia Krausser, Germany.

C&S Electric, a subsidiary of Siemens India Limited, has been a subject of conflict between the Indian Siemens Workers’ Union and the management for several years. In Germany, IG Metall, the Group Works Council and the management have tried several times to help finding a solution based on the International Framework Agreement. Unfortunately, this effort has failed so far.

On September 17th/18th, 2025, the European Works Council (EWC) of Siemens Energy started its second term with the constituent meeting in Duisburg. 28 delegates from 14 countries (Germany, UK, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Austria, France, Hungary, Portugal, Norway, Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium) participated.

On June 17th/18th 2025, representatives of the six US unions IBEW, IUE-CWA, UAW, USW, IAM and IBB held a meeting to discuss the current situation at Siemens in the US from a union perspective.

On May 6th/7th 2025, 34 delegates from 23 countries* met in Strasbourg for the 31st meeting of the Siemens Europe Committee (SEC), led by Mimon Uhamou (Germany, SEC Chairman).

The union organization of employees at the Siemens Mobility plant in Sacramento, California, has failed despite support efforts from Germany. Some aspects of the process raise questions that the labor representation in Germany will have to further analyze.

Siemens' new plant for Smart Infrastructure products at Fort Worth, Texas, is close to the factory in Grand Prairie, where the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) has been representing workers for many years. Since the US-management refused to acknowledge IBEW as representation of the workers in Fort Worth, although IBEW could prove the support of the majority of the workers, IBEW had to go the way of a union election according to US law.

On September 18th/19th, 2024, the European Works Council (EWC) of Siemens Energy held its 4th meeting in Porto. 26 delegates from 15 countries (Germany, UK, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, France, Hungary, Romania, Norway, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy and Netherlands) took part in the meeting. Only the delegate from Poland was missing.

The European Union has set itself ambitious climate targets and has resolved to become climate-neutral by 2050. In order to implement this plan, huge investments are needed not only in the energy infrastructure, but also in the expansion of energy generation from renewable sources. Wind energy must have a central role in this, IndustriAll Europe and the works council of Siemens Energy explain in a joint statement.
