Reorganisation announced

On Tuesday, February 2nd, Siemens Energy CEO Christian Bruch announced the reduction of almost 7 700 jobs globally. The most concerned countries are Germany (about 3 000 jobs), the US (1 000 – 1 500 jobs) and France (several hundreds of jobs). In Germany, IG Metall critizises the plans and declares its solidarity with all concerned workers and their unions.

On December 17th, 2020, the Siemens Europe Committee (SEC) had its first meeting of the new term of office. The meeting had to be held as online meeting due to the unchanged situation caused by the corona virus. 35 delegates from 22 countries took part in the meeting.

The Czech union OS KOVO had invited union representatives from Siemens in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria to their annual meeting. The meeting had been postponed because of the situation caused by corona and took place on August 26th, 2020. At this time Prague had a low level of the virus. Nonetheless, the necessary precautions were taken during the meeting.
